Getting More Serious.

Recently due to personal disputes involving myself and some very morally questionable people that I used to write for; I am for the best part no longer writing about China related topics for any organisations based in that country (with a couple of small exceptions). Although it could be said to be represent the end of an era as far as my writing is concerned; it has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders as I felt that producing content for that page was leaving me pyschologically with one foot back in China. This is not conducive towards making any kind of moves within Vietnam.

As a writer, I can be very flexible and write about a very wide variety of topics; many of which may take me out of my comfort zone, but some are a genuine pleasure to write about. Recently, I sent out a couple of Drum and Bass related pieces to an up and coming music blog; I am looking forward to seeing what kind of audience they can reach.

The new look – feedback appreciated.

When I came to Da Nang, my priority was to focus upon getting to know the city well and learn the language. If I was to be absolutely honest, there were times were I quite simply did not place my own goals first and continued to do more for others than myself. My progression has not always been consistent with the expectations that I have placed upon myself; now things must be done differently.

Now, I hope to be able to focus more upon building up this blog again. It is indeed only a small blog, not a typical expat website that would be built with the aim of being dominant in the quest to influence all expats and therefore dictate what is cool and what is not amongst a pathetically small community; in exchange for blagging free meals and drinks from various bars and restaurants.

Maybe, I will eventually monetise this blog and also seek to get other writers on board as it never has and never should be about ‘me.’ However, it is my responsibility to build something here and not neglect it. The look and feel of the blog has been changed significantly, The tags and categories will eventually get sorted out properly. Those articles that I never got round to producing will come sooner than you might think. New experiences will be sought out solely for the purpose of providing better content for Da Nang Diaries.

Finally, I would like to point out that I have recently noticed that more of you have been reading this blog as of late; I owe it to you all to do something decent with the blog as a whole. Please remember to share my content with others and help Da Nang Diaries reach an even wider audience.
